WCAG 3.2.6: Consistent Help
WCAG 3.2.6 Consistent Help is a level A success criterion from WCAG 2.2. If help such as contact details, a phone number or a chat is repeated, it appears in the same relative order on each page.
People who need help should not have to hunt for a moving contact link.
How to test
Check the footer or header on three pages. Help mechanisms should be in the same order.
How to fix
Put phone, email and chat in one place and keep the order.
Example that fails
Phone is in the header on the home page and only in a popup on the product page.
Example that passes the check
Email and phone are in the footer on every page, in that order.
Shopify
Put help links in the footer menu and use that footer on every template.
WooCommerce
Keep contact details in one footer widget area.
WordPress
Use one footer template part.
Wix
Use one footer with the help links in a fixed order.
