Helix Platforms Ltd provides AltGrade, a website accessibility scanner and monitoring service for shops and agencies. These terms are the contract for using altgrade.com and the paid plans. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Who we are
Helix Platforms Ltd (company number 17032196) is registered in England and Wales. The registered office is Unit 2 Lions Barn, Langham Lane, Colchester, CO4 5HY. We are not registered for VAT. In these terms, "we" means that company and "you" means the person or business that opens an account or runs a scan. Contact [email protected].
AltGrade is sold to businesses, including online shops and the agencies that look after them. If you accept these terms for a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. A consumer who uses the free scan still has any rights that the law of England and Wales does not allow a contract to take away.
The service
AltGrade fetches public pages you ask us to scan, runs automated checks in a browser, and shows a score plus a fix list written in plain English. Paid plans can rescan on a schedule, store a dated history, produce a PDF, and draft an accessibility statement for you to edit. Agency plans can put your name on a report.
The scanner finds issues that automated rules can see. It does not decide whether a site meets the Equality Act 2010, the European Accessibility Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, or any other law. It does not provide legal advice, and it does not install an overlay widget on your shop. A manual review, when one is arranged, is a separate piece of work and is not a certificate.
Accounts and acceptable use
You must give an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under the account, including scans started by a teammate you invited. Scan only sites you operate or have permission to scan. Do not use the service to publish another organisation's issues, to overload a site, or to probe systems you do not control.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the scanner or other customers at risk, or that we are required to suspend by law. We will tell the account email when we can do so without increasing the risk.
Prices, tax and renewal
Prices are shown on the pricing page in GBP, USD or EUR. No tax is added at checkout. We are not VAT-registered. The free scan is £0. The one-off audit is £49. Starter is £19 a month. Pro is £49 a month. Agency Starter is £99 a month. Agency is £199 a month. Agency Plus is £399 a month. Annual billing is ten times the monthly price.
The Pro trial lasts 7 days and requires a card. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts and Stripe charges the card. Subscriptions renew for the same interval until you cancel. You can cancel in the billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal. It does not refund a period that has already started, except where the law requires a refund.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. If a renewal payment fails, we may pause monitoring until the payment succeeds. A price change applies to the next renewal after we have told the account email. The price you already paid for the current period stays as it was.
Your site and our software
You keep all rights in your website. You give us permission to fetch the public URLs you submit, store the results, and prepare the report for you. Do not submit a URL that needs a password unless the product you are using is expressly built for that and you have the right to grant access. We do not claim ownership of your pages or your product data.
The AltGrade software, the fix library, and the design of this website stay ours or our licensors'. You may share a PDF report with a colleague, a developer, or a client. On an Agency plan you may present the white-label report as part of your own service and charge your client whatever you agree with them. You may not resell access to the AltGrade application itself, copy the scanner, or remove our notices from the software.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep AltGrade available, but scans depend on your site responding to an automated browser. A page can be skipped if it times out, blocks the scanner, or sits behind a login. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or that every issue on a site will be found.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that the law of England and Wales does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability arising out of AltGrade in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in that period, or £100 if you only used the free scan.
Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. We may update these terms by changing the date on this page. If a change is material for paying customers, we will email the account address. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version.

Do you add VAT?
Helix Platforms Ltd is not VAT-registered. Prices on the pricing page are the amounts charged, and no tax is added at checkout.
How do I cancel?
Open the billing portal from your account and cancel before the next renewal. A trial needs to be cancelled before it ends if you do not want the paid plan to start.
Can I scan a client's site?
Yes, if you have the client's permission. Agency plans are built for that work. You still must not publish the client's issues on a public page.
