Free accessibility checker
Scan up to 10 pages of your store with no account. You see the score and the top five issues on screen. The full list is emailed.
What the free scan includes
We fetch the homepage and follow navigation and sitemap URLs, up to 10 pages. Product, cart and checkout URLs are preferred over a blog post. Each page opens at a desktop width and a mobile width.
axe-core supplies the rule set. We add checks for the page language, link text such as click here, alt text that is a file name, a missing focus outline, and menus the keyboard cannot open.
On screen you get the score and the five largest groups. Leave an email if you want the rest of that scan. Three scans per network each day. The same URL within 24 hours returns the stored result, so a refresh is not a new crawl.
What to do with the five issues
Open the first group and fix one item before you read the whole email. An empty cart button, a grey price and a product photo named IMG_2044.jpg are the usual start. The platform steps sit next to the finding.
Use the contrast checker if the finding is a colour pair. Measure the price against the card, or the button label against the button. Normal text needs 4.5:1. Large text needs 3:1. Darken the text or lighten the background.
Publish the theme. Run the scan again the next day, or sooner on a different URL path if you want a fresh crawl. The score should move because the page changed.
When to move past the free scan
Ten pages is enough to see the pattern. It is not a full pass of a catalogue. The £49 audit crawls up to 50 pages and adds a dated PDF and a statement draft. Monitoring from £19 a month rescans on a schedule and emails you when a new critical issue appears.
Agencies who need their name on the PDF use the Agency plan at £199 a month for 25 sites. No tax is added on any plan.
The free scan is the right first step for a founder, a merchandiser or a developer who has not seen the store the way a keyboard user does. You can run it before you book anyone.
Limits, stated once
The crawl only sees public pages. A password page, a blocked bot, or a checkout step that never loads is reported as skipped. Fix what was scanned, then check the skipped URLs by hand.
Read the product description yourself. Try the purchase with a keyboard. The score will not tell you if the copy makes sense or if a custom checkout falls apart when someone listens to it. Fix the five groups you can see today, then decide whether you want the longer crawl. The email copy of the scan is the list to forward to whoever edits the theme. Ask them to reply with the URLs they changed so you can scan those next. A second pass on the cart and one product is enough to see whether the theme edit landed. Include the homepage if the header changed too.
Questions
Is the free scan actually free?
Yes. No card. Up to 10 pages, with the top five groups on screen.
Why did I get a stored result?
The same URL within 24 hours reuses the last completed scan. Change the URL or wait a day for a new crawl.
What does the scan miss?
Automated scans cannot catch every WCAG issue. Walk checkout after you fix the list.
