WCAG 2.4.7: Focus Visible
WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible is a level AA success criterion from WCAG 2.0. Any keyboard-operable control has a visible focus indicator.
Without a focus ring, keyboard users cannot see where they are.
How to test
Tab through the header and a form. Each stop needs a visible outline or other indicator.
How to fix
Remove outline: none unless you replace it with a clear focus style.
Example that fails
Theme CSS sets outline: none on all links and buttons.
Example that passes the check
Focused links show a 3 pixel solid outline.
Shopify
In theme CSS, delete outline: none on :focus, or replace it with a visible outline.
WooCommerce
Restore focus outlines in the theme stylesheet.
WordPress
Remove outline: none from the theme.
Wix
Do not add custom CSS that removes focus rings.
